Aaron Hockley correctly pointed out on his blog that it wasn't just Automattic that was missing from BlogWorld, but all of the major blogging platforms were absent this year.

Not at all. We (Automattic) simply don't have a marketing budget. Other than organizing WordCamp SF and helping out with other WordCamps, we don't do any events (maybe we will in the future). So it's nothing against Blog World Expo in particular.

thanks for all your work John – you did a great job given some of the mess ups with scheduling that you had to deal with – it was a pity that more people were not aware of the WC sessions as the value delivered in those that I saw was excellent.

Yeah…thanks for the hard work on WordCamp and the Genius Bar…I had a great time hanging out and answering questions in person…I dont' think that can be beat when you're needing advise for information..

Hats off to you John for taking the time and effort to make WordCamp happen. As I said in Vegas, it was the addition of a Wordcamp weekend that cemented my decision to attend Blogworld again. Got some great ideas and loved the opportunity to get questions answered at the Genius Bar. You rock!
