Hobbits and Kings...are you shitting me? A king bowing to a midget....very nice. I save all my tears for Your Asslicked Park when Samuel L. Jackson gets eaten by...um...well...you get the point. Honestly, I only cry at funerals and when I get kicked in the coin purse. I think you really only have to graze a gonad and I'm gonna fall to my knees faster than Eddie Murphy's transexual hitchhiker. There's no crying in baseball.

Lord of the Rings: Return of the Kings. I could come in 5 min before the King bows to the hobbits and still shed a tear. It's the ultimate in respect and it's tender. So I tear up.

But I'm a girl. If I could tell you one for Justin, I would, but I don't know of any. He's solid, or atleast I think he is.

Crying while watching movies, terrible. When I was seven I cried while watching "Old Yeller" because I had to bury my dog after it was hit by a semi-truck the week before. No crying for me and I think this goes to culture of Military life that I grew up in. My dad is an ahole and to this day there is no crying unless you are at a funeral and there is no cussing at all--period. I would say that the saddest movie I have ever seen though was "Saving Private Ryan" when Tom Hanks died in the end. He sacrificed himself and that was noble. I think I am way too analytical about film/novels that I can't "suspend disbelief" for too long because the whole time I am trying to recognize artistic devises and relate the picture/work, as a whole, to its authorial/directorial influence. Okay so I rant sometimes.

I always get a kick out of watching Shawshank but due to its fiction it doesn't hit as hard as the "real-deal" of Remembering the Titans. I can't say I really ever get teary at a movie but your lying if Schindlers List doesn't pull at you. I did however laugh so hard I cried when I watched Monty Python's search for the Holy Grail. Ironically (You'll see why in a sec) the movie that comes to mind that I do remember crying at was Phenomenon (cue the singing).

Craig, it's funny you mention Shawshank. I was flipping between Shawshank and Titans last night. As for Phenomenon, I'm sure I would have probably cried at that one, too, but when we saw it the first time, we were sitting in the VERY front row and on the aisle. We got there late and it was PACKED... So it was all I could do not to throw up from motion sickness...

Charles, great rant. Glad to have you ranting here. Shaving Ryan's Privates was a good one, too. I know for sure I didn't cry at that one. I don't even think it was close. Good movie. Moving movie. Just not a tear jerker.
